Title: The Military for Writers with Focus on Special Operations

Class Description: This workshop covers how the military operates with an over-view of the major services: Army, Air Force, Navy & Marines. Organization, training, personnel and mission accomplishment will be covered. I will go into more detail on how the various Special Operations members are trained (Special Forces, SEALs, Task Force 160, Air Force Special Operations Wing, Rangers and Delta Force) and their methods of deployment and operating. I will give insight into the psychology of the members so that writers can effectively portray them.

  • Lecture 9: Special Operations Tactics for Writers (19 July)
  • Lecture 10: The War on Terror and Learning from Failures and Success (21 July)
  • Lecture 11: Other resources and reality versus fiction. (23 July)
  • Lecture 12: Wrap up. Final questions answered. (25 July)
